Alenia seems to think that the request for proposals (RFP) for the RCAF’s long awaited fixed wing search and rescue aircraft project is coming soon.

Although the FWSAR procurement remains in its pre-RFP period after this stage’s closing date was extended, all signs, including the recently released Defence Acquisition Guide, point to the release of the RFP this Fall.
Backed by its well-balanced and highly capable line-up of Canadian aerospace companies, Team Spartan is eager to compete in the FWSAR procurement process as Canada moves towards the release of the RFP in this, one of Canada’s longest active procurement programmes.
All parts of Team Spartan, which encompasses many highly qualified Canadian firms, are fully committed to bringing high value work to Canada in key areas of technology. From all current indications, this can be done within existing budget limitations.
